After graduating in 2008 from the University of Iowa with a degree in Geography, Justin moved to Las Vegas to explore the Southwest. While in Las Vegas, Justin gained local knowledge as a program coordinator with the National Park Service at Lake Mead National Recreation Area and with the USDA Forest Service at Mount Charleston in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
Since 2013, Justin has been guiding cross-country tours for some of the best small group travel companies in the business that have allowed him to guide all over the United States. Additionally, Justin has organized and guided specialized adaptive hiking trips for people with disabilities to numerous national parks in North & South America.
Most memorable outdoor experience
“The trips in the adaptive hiking field were some of the most impactful trips I’ve ever been associated with. Hiking the Inca trail is, for most, a major accomplishment, but to assist an individual in a trail mobility device over the nearly 10,000 steps to our final destination of Machu Picchu is something I’ll certainly never forget.”
